Oh they joys of humour.

Working for Natwest way back between 1988 and 1992, they did an offer where staff could buy a full set (sadly NOT including Cousin Wesley) for, I think, about £28 (roughly £45 in today's money, apparently). I still have them sealed in their polysterene cases in a cardboard box. I think they are currently worth about £200 without Wesley and £350 with him.

There is also a Golden Woody that was brought out in 2006 as a competition prize

aah, I still have and use my Griffin savers Oxford Dictionary, in fact on reading this I had to check and it was still here in my study on the window ledge. It has coped quite well considering it spent many years in my school bag and has been used a great deal. Just had a look, there is actually a market for them on Ebay... I'll keep mine thanky very much!

It's main feature is that it is not a kids dictionary but a proper concise OED. I guess it must have worked as I am still banking with HSBC (formally Midland), but only because I am stuck with DD and salary that make changing my bank account more difficult than buying a house.

I also had a Globe money box, I am sure it was pre griffin as I recall it had the midland logo on it, but will happily be corrected.
