		<description>My primary school had a hand bell.  It was kept in the 6th class' room and somebody from 6th class got the job of ringing it.  Every week somebody new got a turn.</description>

		<description>A siren eh?  The only other kind of school bell I've come across was the beeping one they had on Grange Hill.

Kind of related, I remember during lunchtimes at secondary school we would sometimes hear the strains of an air raid siren making their way from Greenham Common airbase (even though it was a few miles away from our school).  It always sounded very eerie, and knowing they had nukes there we used to nervously joke about WW3 starting...</description>
