The Scariest Doctor Who Enemy

Posted by Big Boo on July 5th, 2008

Last weekend, to mark the penultimate episode of the current series of Doctor Who (it was a real cliffhanger, wasn’t it?) I asked which of the actors who have portrayed the Doctor was your favourite.  David Tennant appears to be doing very well indeed, although Tom Baker narrowly made it into second place, which didn’t really surprise me.  I expected him to do a bit better to be honest…

Anyway, the thrilling conclusion airs tonight (can’t wait!) and since the best known of enemies the Daleks feature, I thought we’d stick with the Timelord theme this week and ask which of the Doctors enemies had you cowering behind the sofa the most as a child, or indeed still have you cowering today!  Of course there are far too many enemies to choose from, so we’ll boil it down to the obvious two!

Essentially it does come down to this doesn’t it ? Sad for the Ice Warriors, Sontarans and the Master (the only other foes with > 2 appearances)

I’ve been good. Not left any spoilers for tonight lying around here. Anyone found those DW books I was after yet ?

I toyed with adding some of the other enemies, but it was beginning to get out of hand. The Master would have been a worthy addition, and possibly the Sontarans too, but then I could have had the Autons and the Slitheen, so I thought I’d draw a line with the obvious two!

Sorry, haven’t been to any newsagents this week, and I forgot to look when I went to Tesco…

If you do find any lmk ! Got the Dalek Special now - still need Marco polo, Tenth Planet, Logopolis and 2 copies of Mission to magnus. The WHS, Borders and Tescos in Swindon were all swimming with Cybermen !

Wasn’t tonight’s a nice bit of fun ? Was expecting complete and utter tosh. Instead got a nice enjoyable romp. Nothing mold breaking (ala Human Nature/Family of Blood/Blink) but nothing excruciating (Last of the Timelords) either.

It was a bit of a twisty rollercoaster ride wasn’t it. I was pleased to see Jackie and Mickey again. Lots of fun and plenty of twists. I did feel sorry for Donna’s grandad at the end as well…

Speaking of Mickey, something tells me we might well be seeing Mickey and Martha on Torchwood, after all they need two more team members on that show now…

What do you think? Have your say!
