The Rubik’s Cube was one of the most popular toys of the 1980’s, and whilst it may have been simple to play with, it was damn near impossible for most of us to solve without either resorting to a solution book, peeling off stickers or prising it apart and reassembling. What I want to know is was there anyone out there reading this who was actually able to solve the thing unaided?
Did you ever manage to complete the Rubik's Cube (without cheating)?

Screwdriver here.
I normally used my cube solving book, but the screwdriver did come out sometimes…
I see we have one person claiming they can do it. Should I demand proof?
I actually have a solved one sitting not two feet from me! I’m not as fast as I used to be, but I can usually do it inside of 3 minutes.
Three minutes to solve? You’re a better man than I Duane – I might just get one side in three minutes – if I’m lucky…
It’s not as impressive as it seems. It’s really just a series of patterns. Once you know the patterns, you’re only limited by your fingers! There’s a faster way to do it, starting with a 2x2x2 corner instead of top-middle-bottom, but I haven’t sat down to learn it yet.
