Hi David, I'm pleased you like my site!

I should have the instructions for the tractor stashed away in the attic somewhere. If I can find them I'll see if I can scan them for you (though don't hold your breath - it might take me a while!)

Hi Big,

Do you have a scanned copy of the lego technics tractor? I have all the old kits but no instructions for this one, and I'd like my son to see them.

Thanks in advance,

D

P.S. Nice site!!

Yes, you're right about the multicoloured cogs. I remember my cousin who is about 10 years my senior having some of these cogs (which I think came out in the 1960s) in his Lego collection.

I think all you really did with these cogs was join them together in different configurations to build gear boxes and the like. That's what I recall from a brief look at the building instructions for them when I was a kid.

What I was talking about above was the grey cogs and pegs which became common place with these sets, and specifically the Technic sets we still know today that are of various real world cars and other vehicles.

You sure about the 77 date ? I can recall multicoloured cogs and white axles from before this time. See http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/basic/samsonite
