Am I right that they had big photographs of Mumford, Claypole and Davenport on the wall or on the side of a desk or something? I've very vague memories of a giant picture of Mr. Claypole in his original Jester's outfit...

Yeah the story does fall down a bit at that point adimitedly. It's a shame, brought down by a role the actor played years later.

The first series is odd, the office is different to subsequent years!

Cool. Might have to borrow the DVD from you then. As I say I only have vague memories of the original trio of ghosts so it would be good to see what I missed.

I believe you are correct about Hazel too. The years she is credited with appearing on Wikipedia date back to at least the third series. I also didn't realise Dobbin dated back so far!

Harold Meaker as a time lord though... I don't think I'd be able to take him seriously...

Remind me to lend you the fuirst series on DVD.

I'm pretty certain that the Mumford's didn't know Fred was a ghost, and he spent his entire time trying to conceal it from them. When he left his parents went with him and they were replaced by the Perkins. I'm pretty certain Hazel crops up as a guest character at least once in earlier seasons.

The last episode with Fred Mumford & Mr Davenport in is the one that introduces Dobbin and for years I thought the actors that played these two characters had been sentanced to be inside the Donkey ! - they aren't of course

The Dobbin actors later went down in Television infamy by appearing as the Myrka in Doctor Who's Warriors of the Deep - Mr Meeker having previously appeared as renegade time lord the War Chief in the War Games
