I’m trying to track down a choose-your-own-adventure series I read as a kid in the 80’s. It had the word “Dakota” in the title and reminded me of Indiana Jones but not. Please help

I remember these. They had them here, too.

Tried not to cheat, but it was not easy. Eventually, I think everybody would go back if they did not like the outcome.

Did anyone not cheat with these books? I’ll happily admit to cheating in the same manner as Aveen, marking my last spot so I could go back if I didn’t like the outcome.

I’d forgotten about these. I also cheated! I kept my place at the previous page till I saw what the next page was, and if it was a bad choice I’d go back and pick the other option. And for the Fighting Fantasy series I always gave myself maximum stats without bothering to roll the dice. Kind of defeated the purpose a bit

I cheated horribly with these books. I found them frustrating when they didn’t do what I wanted 9which was usually the violent method…!). I never really cracked dungeons and dragons for that same reason. Strategy bores me!
