Aveen, I had a furry one too (lurid green, I think). And Little Sis, those calculator ones were favourites!
Also liked giant plastic pencils which unzipped at the "rubber" end and reeked of cheap, toxic plastic, plus those rectangular ones with loads of compartments which had padded "doors", round hooped sections for pens or pencils, and attached sharpeners with removable shavings bit.
Some of the girls in my class brought carrier bags to school, filled with every kind of rubber you could think of (ones that looked and sort of smelled like bars of chocolate were cool).

Another classic one there sis, well remembered. I think it had a built in pencil sharpener at the top as well.

I seem to recall there being another very similar one that had a multiplication table embossed in the lid.

Don't forget the plastic pencil case that looked like an oversized calculator which when you opened it up it had a secret compartment in it. I always wanted one of them.
