As you’re probably aware, this web site is meant to be a celebration of everything about growing up in the eighties, but great though that decade was, would you want to go back and live through it all again?
Would I want to? I’m not sure. Perhaps if I could be a kid again then yes, I think I would, but would I want to be an adult in the 1980’s? I’m not sure to be honest. What do you think? Vote below, and leave us all a comment if you have any views one way or the other that you’d like to share.

I would because I was a kid in the ’80’s (born in ‘79) and would love to relive my childhood.

I’m definitely with you on reliving my childhood Karen, I’d love to do that too. I think kids today may have more TV channels and more sophisticated toys at their disposal, but I think we had more fun with what we had!

I suspect I currently am re-living mine somewhat vicariously through the devouring of books, tv programmes, second hand vinyl of the stuff I couldn’t afford as a child.
I recently read Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, which has 80’s childhood imprinted on every beautifully crafted page. I loved it, and he in turn was inspired by Andrew Collins ‘Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now, my miserable 80’s’ – equally satisfying for it’s rich period details and remembrance of being a student in the good days of the 1980’s. Recommended, if you haven’t read them already!

PS..mind, there was no Buffy in the ’80s…not sure I could forsake the Buffyverse!

You wouldn’t have long to wait for the Buffy film with Kristy Swanson, though that probably isn’t much of a consolation. I’ll admit to owning the film on DVD which is brilliant for the great picture of Rutger Hauer dressed up as a vampire on the back. For some reason he’s pulling an Elvis style lip curl, which looks hilarious.

Rutger Hauer…he was a bit cool then wasn’t he? Particularly in Blade Runner. And no, Kirsty Swanson is not my Buffy!
