I'll admit to owning the film on DVD which is brilliant for the great picture of Rutger Hauer dressed up as a vampire on the back. I recently read Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, which has 80's childhood imprinted on every beautifully crafted page. I loved it, and he in turn was inspired by Andrew Collins 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, my miserable 80's' - equally satisfying for it's rich period details and remembrance of being a student in the good days of the 1980's. Recommended, if you haven't read them already!
