He was behind some truely classic '80's films (I heart the Breakfast Club), and when i couldn't sleep the other night I was watching 'not another Teen Movie' where the high school was named after him (shame about the rest of the film, but at least it was an affectionate homage). And scarily young - poor man, poor family. I can’t believe that John Hughes is dead – I just popped in here for a neb and saw this post.
