Writing about the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe reminded me of my old pedal car from when I was small.
It was a police car, and I loved it. I remember it had a little plastic walkie talkie on the dashboard, and the back featured a little shelf with some mini traffic cones on. I used to scoot all round the garden in it, although I don’t ever recall being all that good at actually pedalling it.
Instead of bicycle style pedals it had two pieces of bent metal joined with some kind of cam mechanism. Your feet rested in the nooks of these metal strips, and pumping them back and forth drove the car along. Once you got going they weren’t too bad to use, but getting started was nearly impossible so I used to use the Fred Flintstone method, pushing myself along using my feet.

I purchased a Little Tykes yellow pedal car for my daughter in the mid 80’s, it had handles on the sides for steering instead of a steering wheel. She loved it and I would like to locate one for her daughter. Does any one out there remember these?
My brother and I had a yellow one too. We loved it. I thought they came in red at one time too. Anyhow others are looking for this toy as well. I’m going to ask my parents for pictures we may have some of us in the car. This link is to a guy who has a picture:

Looking to buy 2 or 3 of the Little Tike Yellow Sport (Super) Coupe from the 1980’s my son had one and wants a couple for his boys. Anyone have one to sell?
My three daughters drive the heck out of their 1980s yellow little tikes sport coupe. Now with three grandaughters I’m desperate to find one for them. Please help
