In fact, we’ve made it so easy for you that you don’t even have to fiddle about trying to get the perforations to tear on the little cardboard windows. The doors open magically each day all by themselves, so all you have to do is visit the page in your web browser.

Each door contains something from the Eighties, and if you click on it the power of the Intynet will take you straight to the relevant page on this very site so you can learn more about that particular thing.

Click on the following link for some Advent Calendar Fun!

Ever been stuck for a present idea for an Eighties mad friend?

Want to track down that favourite film from your youth?

Want to line the pockets of the author of this site?

If the answer to any of the above is “Yes” then rejoice, for here is the answer to your prayers!

We’ve scoured the pages of Amazon to find you loads of cool Eighties goodies, including books, DVDs of films and TV series, toys, games and music, many at bargain prices! Go on, you know it makes sense, as Del Boy would say.

Those nice people at Amazon have allowed me to pull out some select products from their vast range and present them to you with a nice little shop front. If you buy anything from here then I get a small <del datetime="2011-10-04T19:46:24+00:00">backhander</del> payment too, which helps towards keeping <del datetime="2011-10-04T19:46:24+00:00">me in Galaxy Counters</del> this site running.

So visit the Child of the 1980’s Shop now, and get yourself that copy of Howard the Duck you always wanted…

It was the sort of toy that could have conceivably been given away free as cover mounted gift on a comic book, so I thought why not bring this idea bang up-to-date. Since I can’t physically stick a free gift to this website using sticky tape I therefore present to you the FaceMaker iPhone/iPod touch/iPad App, which has been loving created for all you Apple device owners out there to download for free and spend many happy hours drawing silly hairstyles with.

You can even use it to give yourself, your family and friends (who may then become enemies of course) a new do, as you can draw on any picture from your image library or taken with the iPhone camera.

Last Autumn I reported that George Michael’s hugely successful first solo album, Faith, was to be remastered and reissued. The release unfortunately had to be put back, but I can now reveal that it is due for release on January 31st 2011, so in a couple of weeks at the time of writing!

There are two versions of the album being made available. The first is the Special Edition 2 CD/DVD version which contains the remastered album, a bonus CD featuring instrumental versions of some of the songs and a DVD with even more special footage. The, for the real fans, there is the Limited Edition Numbered Box Set which contains all the above plus a Vinyl version of the album and lots of other goodies.

To celebrate the reissue I’ve been given the opportunity of giving away three copies of the remastered album, so if you fancy winning a copy pop on over to the Faith competition entry page now!
